Fingers versus powder, curcumin percentage, and why origin (Salem, Erode, Nizamabad) belongs on the purchase order.
Food manufacturers usually buy powder at a stated curcumin band and mesh. Nutraceutical buyers go higher on curcumin and will reject added colour.
Whole finger turmeric is graded by length, polish, and origin. Salem, Erode, Nizamabad, Rajapuri, and Alleppey are not interchangeable on a packing list.
We list curcumin at 2–5% depending on grade, moisture maximum 10% whole / 12% powder, and no artificial colour. If you need a high-curcumin lot, say so up front — it is a different price and a different origin belt.
Steam-polished fingers look cleaner in a sample photo. They are not automatically higher curcumin. Ask for the Certificate of Analysis (COA), not the polish.
